Our Annual Planning Meeting
The best way Kenneth and I have found to ensure we are on the same page for what we are looking for in a new year, is to set aside time in early January to have an annual planning meeting.
New Year, New Farm
The tricky thing about starting a new farm (or, I assume, any new business) is that you can make a five year plan all you want but you won’t always know what the plan should look like until you’re already living it.
PIVOT!
We were scheduled to take the pigs to the processors on Friday. Come Thursday night, the pigs were not walking into the trailer. For a larger farm this may not be an issue. They may have farm hands or chutes or loading pens. Here at WRF though, if the pigs don’t voluntarily walk onto the trailer then they don’t get on the trailer. Time to pivot.
